Nearly another month has gone by...

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 28, 2008, 6:14 AM
And I haven't done a whole lot that I set out to accomplish. I did have a relatively nice long break from classes, but I still feel burned out now that I'm back in them. I just don't think cumulatively I've had enough time off to rejuvenate my brain on the creativity side. There is so much I want and need to do for when I graduate, that my brain spins out of control over it and I end up doing nothing. LoL. I hope to get out of that pattern by the holidays since I'll only have one more term after them... but I guess if not, when I'm done school, I can refocus my energy on doing my portfolio etc., and getting a web page design up and running (with the help of good friends).

How do you stay creative when you have to be pretty much non-stop? How do you refuel your brain? It's tough when living in a cultural wasteland and far removed from social interaction... I like to recharge by getting outdoors and doing hikes, biking, or swimming, but sometimes that isn't possible. I also of course like plays, movies, and art museums, but two of the 3 don't really exist out here.

Anyway.. that's life for me right now. Trying to plug away and stay the course until I'm done in February. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but man, I wish I had a break now. ;)

Happy summer to those off and enjoying it!

Thanks, the orientation went fine and they have a couple design projects for me already. (Small, but still needed.) I hope to take photos too, but I couldn't get an answer out of them about doing that. Maybe I just need to show up and take photos and send them to them to get them interesting in using me for that. ;) Some people think a picture is a picture... but if they could get higher quality shots to use on their adoption info site, I think the success rate of finding the animals homes might go up. At least, I would hope so. :)
